Ideen Wettbewerb Tempelhofer Feld

Im Dezember 2024 hat die Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung einen Ideenwettbewerb für die Umgestaltung des Tempelhofer Felds ausgerufen. Mit diesem Wettbewerb sollte die Diskussion über die Zukunft des Tempelhofer Felds und seine Rolle in der Stadt neu eröffnet werden. Es geht dabei auch um die Frage, ob das Feld, das seit 2014 per Referendum als öffentlicher Freiraum definiert wurde, für Entwicklungen, die im Tempelhof Gesetz verboten sind, geöffnet werden soll. Dazu gehören bauliche Nutzungen und mögliche (Teil-) privatisierungen. Ein breit aufgestellter Partizipationsprozess hat den Bürger*innenwillen bekräftigt: das Feld soll nicht bebaut werden. Seit der Öffnung des Felds 2010 hat sich ein fantastisches Ökosystem der urbanen Praxis gebildet, das gut vernetzt, stark verwurzelt und mit überregionaler Beachtung den Ort zum Experimentierfeld für sozial-ökologisch-künstlerische Praxis verwandelt hat. Das, was hier in den vergangenen 15 Jahren gewachsen ist, ist nicht mehr wegzudenken aus der Stadt.

Modelling futures

Delmenhorst, Germany
2023 – 2024

Eine Ausstellung vom und über das raumlaborberlin im Haus Coburg in Delmenhorst. In der Ausstellung Modelling Futures wird der Versuch unternommen, Materialien und Ausdrucksformen wie unterschiedliche Gedankenstränge im Raum zu verweben. Modelle, Zeichnungen, Fotografien und Filmmaterial kommen zusammen mit dem lebensweltlichen Maßstab der Dinge um uns herum, Tische, Betten, Lampen, Regale. Sie erweitern das Handlungsspektrum in den Galerieräumen. Das zum Museum gewordene Wohnhaus wird wieder bewohnt. In diskussionsgeladenen Abendrunden wird das Haus zu einem lebendigen Ort des zivilgesellschaftlichen Miteinanders.

Plastic World

Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Die Ausstellung „Plastic World“ war vom 22.06. - 01.10.2023 in der Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main zu sehen. Plastik ist überall. Es ist billig, bunt und omnipräsent, auch in der Kunst. Die Ausstellung zeigt eine Vielzahl von Objekten, Installationen, Filmen und Dokumentationen und schafft damit einen Überblick über die verschiedensten künstlerischen Materialexperimente und Verwendung von Plastik.

Zombie, Punk, Love

collaboration and co-habitation are core conditions of all life. It's about being together, exchanging, producing, decaying, opening up and giving way. Life is about different dynamics coming together. We like to see the city as a form of assembly. Beyond that, our whole planet with its critical zone or biofilm surface, this the thin layer of life surrounding the planet is living together in a potentially unique way in the cosmos, therfore the biggest scale of assembly. If we zoom in, we find the city and if we zoom in more, we see individual living beings, zooming into one of us humans, we discover, that our bodies themselves are universes of cohabitation and exchange. We are no single, autonomous beings, but rather large assemblies of body cells that exchange DNA across from bacteria to human and back.

#empowerment

Die Ausstellung „Empowerment“ war vom 10.09.2022- 8.01.2023 im Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg zu sehen. Weltweit finden, beeinflusst durch verschiedenste Bedingungen und Einflüsse, feministische Debatten, Forderungen und Kämpfe statt. Die Ausstellung stellt verschiedene feministische Ansätze und Theorien dar, indem sie über 100 Werke von Künstlerinnen aus 50 Ländern darstellt. Es wird ein Überblick über Kunst und Feminismen seit dem Beginn des 21.Jahrhunderts gegeben.

Deep Encounter

Deep Encounter is a floating pavilion built for the biennale "sonsbeek20→24: force times distance ⏤ on labour and its sonic ecologies". It serves as a social gathering space and seeks to give equal consideration to both humans and nature in the park. The floating pavilion exists in nature but outside of its rules. Aside from the fact that it floats, the pavilion takes on a very artificial character. The round polygon shape of the Pavilion, a crystal-like constellation of triangles, is meant to emphasise its man-made qualities—floating starkly just off the shore of Grote Vijver, the park's biggest pond.

CTM 2022 - Connected Alienation

"Connected Alienation" explores various aspects of working collaboratively in pandemic times. The exhibit highlights the limits of digital togetherness, and the loneliness that can arise when virtual experiences and spaces suddenly replace in-person contact and shared physical experience. The telematic tools that mediate this online togetherness, which are rarely noticed or placed centre stage, occasionally shine through the works.

We are happy and honored and thankful to announce - raumlabor has been awarded the golden lion in the 17th architecture exhibition „how will we live together?“ in the venice biennale. The jury composed of Kazuyo Sejima (president, Japan), Sandra Barclay (Peru), Lamia Joreige (Lebanon), Lesley Lokko (Ghana-Scotland), Luca Molinari (Italy), elaborated: […] for an inspiring collaborative approach that argues for participation, regeneration and collective responsibility, resulting in two projects that are a model for imaginative civic revitalization. This award is for all the people that collaborated with us over the years, it’s for a way of doing architecture. we like to send our biggest thanks to everybody that contributed and contributes to this fluid being we call raumlabor. together, we can change things.

Billhorner Platz

Das Projekt Billhorner-Platz widmet sich Perspektiven auf Stadt und Stadtplanung während und nach der Covid-19 Pandemie. Anhand einer konkreten Situation im Stadtteil Rothenburgsort – der Kreuzung Billhorner Mühlenweg / Billhorner Röhrendamm – wird sich diesen in kollaborativ-forschenden Formaten genähert. Der von Herbst 2022 bis Frühjahr 2024 laufende Prozess setzt dabei auf die Erfahrungen und das Wissen der Menschen vor Ort.

It's transformative, it's an adventure and a zone de repos (place to rest). Love is not a stable condition but a fluid relationship, that is recreated each day. It is a possibility.

Making Futures School

Over the course of two weeks, over 150 participants took part in a diverse curriculum convened by practitioners in the field of spatial practices. Acting as a non-disciplinary learning environment, the School proposes, designs, builds, negotiates, maintains, performs and celebrates an educational and convivial space in and around Haus der Statistik, Berlin. At the same time, it becomes a dynamic actor within a process of urban transformation, serving as a common sphere of action between participants, neighbors and civic society.

EURE VISION: SONGS AM ALLESANDERSPLATZ

Mitten in der Stadt, direkt am Alexanderplatz entsteht in modellhafter Weise ein neuer Kiez. Musik soll diesen partizipativen Entstehungsprozess begleiten mit der Frage „Wie wollen wir in Zukunft zusammen leben?“ Mit Musik wollen wir Brücken zwischen dem Haus der Statistik und den Nachbarschaften schlagen.

raumlaborberlin prepared an exhibition design in tune with this years theme of the CTM 2020 festival - LIMINAL. The scenography resembles an institutionalized, highly functional space for exhibiting art, while simultaneously mirroring this function to create a surreal ambience and to achieve a loss of control.
