Vom 26.01.-06.07.2011 wurden im IBA Studio in der Zollgarage des Flughafengebäude Tempelhof die Leitideen der IBA 2020 im Rahmen verschiedener Talk, Walks und Events öffentlich diskutiert. Mit ihrem Studio machte sich die IBA aktiv auf Partnersuche – offen für alle, die sich ernsthaft und kreativ einbringen wollen.

When we started to imagine ways for the tempelhof airfiled to develop into the future, it was still used as an airport. This no-go condition made it difficult for many to imagine this giant and perfectly centrally located field to become an organic part of the city. The strategy focusses on the first steps and the first five years, but suggests frameworks and strategic organisational bodies, that could drive the transformation process in the long term. this learning urbanism works closely with cultural strategies, giving away land for pioneer uses, creating testing situations for long term ideas and translating the activities on site into the planning sphere with the new tool of the dynamic masterplan.

The System is a labyrinthine structure made of 223 doors from buildings that have been demolished in Halle-Neustadt. It opens up spaces to the visitors in unexpected ways, reflecting diverse aspects of our work.

Medium-scale foyer furnishing: too big to be furniture and too small to be building structures. Consisting of abstract black, mobile elements reminiscent of facades, city models, fences and blocks, the foyer area can be infinitely redefined using the elements of this variable installation. Dessau, Germany 2007
This is a participative process to redefine Dessau City Park gradual development of park with intensive integration of user interests. The design will be framed by a sculptural fringe. Flexible-use islands have been positioned at the green core of the park according to the wishes of the residents.
