Hilltone is an installation at the Roskildefestival, on of the biggest music festivals in Europe, which functions almost as a temporary city. A scaffolding structure is the base of „Hilltone“ to be integrated with sloping wood surfaces to obtain organic forms. The area doesn’t offer any specific services but is a “crossing point”. It leads to other areas characterized by certain activities - music, food, shops. The idea is to create some recognizable points on the way that “advertise” different plots behind them. These plots will be made up of i.e. art expos, shops, relaxation areas or just meeting places and will be characterized by distinguished attributes. The main focus of the area will be the road in the middle though as a connector.

When we started to imagine ways for the tempelhof airfiled to develop into the future, it was still used as an airport. This no-go condition made it difficult for many to imagine this giant and perfectly centrally located field to become an organic part of the city. The strategy focusses on the first steps and the first five years, but suggests frameworks and strategic organisational bodies, that could drive the transformation process in the long term. this learning urbanism works closely with cultural strategies, giving away land for pioneer uses, creating testing situations for long term ideas and translating the activities on site into the planning sphere with the new tool of the dynamic masterplan.

the urban strategy for a quite large piece of the central area of munich proposes a development strategy that incorporates existing potentials and actors into a long term time perspective. it therefore proposes a development in steps, that allow the current actors to move inside the area and potentially allows them to keep their places in the further future.

One of the mayor legacies of modernist architecture is the slogans that made it into the everyday thinking of people towards space. Everybody is familiar with „Less is more“ and „Form follows Function“. The linearity of these arguments is illusive. Life is more than one sentence and Architecture is too.

The hospital welcomed us in its lobby we picked up an espresso and a glass of water at the cafeteria quickly. Around us doctors and nurses, patients and their visitors. A moment of relaxing before we got lost in endless corridors and went through innumerable compartments in the hospitals basement, looking for the room where the opening event of the competition was going to take place. Hospitals are for me like big machines. Behind the visitors level mysterious activities, which I do not understand, are hiding.I have the impression that nobody actually knows and apprehends the entire structure. Somewhere there are hidden and undiscovered areas.
