Pristina, Kosovo 2022
The Brick Factory is Prishtina’s largest post-industrial site. Having been placed under the administration of Kosovo’s Privatisation Agency in 2007, it was returned to public ownership by the Municipality of Prishtina in 2021. The future of the site lies in the hands of the citizens. Will it become a new cultural hub, as foreseen by the municipality? What kind of culture would it support? Would such a hub follow existing models or pioneer new ones? The discussion is only just beginning.
Milton Keynes, United Kingdom 2019
In Autumn 2019, Milton Keynes experiences the inaugural ‘A Festival of Creative Urban Living’ – a new biennial art, design and architecture festival for the city. Commissioned by Milton Keynes Council, the first edition is developed, shaped and co-curated by raumlaborberlin.
Keelung/Taoyuan/Yunlin, Taiwan 2019
In the Theatre of Flows, raumlaborberlin staged a journey through the real world of Taiwan as a performative learning landscape. Here the island took the shape of a system where resources, energy and man-power flowed in and out. They looked upon subjects that were in relation to the interconnectivity of flows in the urban and natural environment: ocean waste and the fishing industry of Keelung Harbor, the 2581 ponds of an irrigation system developed by the Japanese in the city of Taoyuan and the oyster farming community vs the largest private plastic refinery in the coastal areas of Yunlin. The collection of facts, figures, embodied knowledge and encounters with local experts on their expedition were later presented in a performative format. The project used the old army dormitory at Taipei’s Contemporary Culture Lab (C-lab) as a research station where material was collected, discussed and showcased.

raumlaborberlin has been invited to develop the “10éme Parcours d´art contemporain en vallée du Lot” north of Toulouse in July 2015. The project “Lotville” will become the underlying narrative for the parcours – it is raumlabors attempt to reintroduce urban visioning into the world of arts and architecture. Lotville is a contemporary perspective on Europes countryside in relation to urbanity. Lotville will be an exhibition and a set of interventions in the landscape and villages along the river Lot.
