Der open space ist wieder auf im K20, am Grabbeplatz in Düsseldorf. Zusätzlich zu den open days, an denen man mit freiem Eintritt und ohne Voranmeldung vorbeigucken kann, findet dort unter dem Titel „Nichts als Zukunft“ ein umfangreiches Programm zu den zentralen Fragen zur Gegenwart und Zukunft unseres Planeten statt, das durch die Kunstsammlung NRW organisiert ist.
Bruges, Belgium 2018
We are happy to announce the Summer School's successful ending! Over the course of ten days in Bruges, Belgium, with a group of students and local youth, we explored the theme of Mobile Units for Immaterial Values. These small, self-contained objects are places for the ongoing construction of the self and the community. They are places for exchanging, debating, finding, and losing places full of errors and mistakes: places full of life. The Summer School was organized as part of House of Time, an ongoing project for the Bruges Triennial 2018: Liquid City.

Der im soziokulturellen Gefüge der Neckerstadt-West verortete Neumarkt war historisch gesehen ein lebendiger Marktplatz. Heute zerfällt der Platz in Bereiche, die weder in Beziehung zueinander, noch zu dem Stadtgefüge stehen und funktioniert somit nicht als öffentlicher Raum. Zukünftig soll der Neumarkt wieder eine Rolle als Quartiersplatz und als zentrale Ankerstelle im Stadtteil einnehmen. Um dies zu erfüllen greifen wir auf bereits vorhandene Programme zurück und erweitern diese funktional durch mehrdimensionale Angebote, gerichtet an verschiedene Adressatengruppen. Damit wird der Neumarkt zum Begegnungsort, Bürgerplatz und Herz der Südlichen Neckarstadt. Wir stellen dabei unterschiedliche Teilräume bereit, die bürgerschaftliche Initiativen als temporäre Zwischennutzung zulassen und fördern die schrittweise Umsetzung des Neumarktes bietet die Chance einer räumlich-gestalterischen Entwicklung.

Situated in an unlikely pocket along a canal in Bruges—one of the few remaining industrial sites in the historical port city—the project reprograms and reactivates this factory area into a sphere of collective imagination, action, and transformation. The project evolves slowly over time: developed in collaboration with local youth, the House of Time enables them to work together to find solutions to social and community problems through discussions, experiments, and the act of living together. The project is part of the Bruges Triennial 2018: Liquid City, for the duration of which the place is open to all.
