Over the course of two weeks, over 150 participants took part in a diverse curriculum convened by practitioners in the field of spatial practices. Acting as a non-disciplinary learning environment, the School proposes, designs, builds, negotiates, maintains, performs and celebrates an educational and convivial space in and around Haus der Statistik, Berlin. At the same time, it becomes a dynamic actor within a process of urban transformation, serving as a common sphere of action between participants, neighbors and civic society.

Making Futures Bauhaus+ is an action research project that addresses questions of architecture as a collective form and architecture as a resource. Departing from these two perspectives, it operates as an experimental research unit that advances future paths for architectural practice and education. It was initiated in 2018 as a cooperation between raumlabor and the Berlin University of the Arts on the occasion of the Bauhaus’ centenary.

From April to September 2018 raumlaborberlin invites into a visionary inner city offshore- laboratory for collective, experimental learning, knowledge transfer and the formation of trans-disciplinary networks to challenge routines and habits of urban practices – the Floating University Berlin.

Der Umgang mit Abfall ist ein wesentlicher Teil unserer Alltagspraxis. “Sammlers Traum” stellt die gängige Praxis in Frage und erprobt den Einsatz entsorgter Materialien als Baustoffe. Sammlers Traum ist von 13.April bis 15.Oktober 2017 auf der IGA Berlin in Marzahn zu sehen.
