Emma ist ein mobiler Aktivator in Form eines Zuges. Mit seinen multifunktionalen Tischen auf Rädern, möchte Emma Orte des Stadtteils Untergiesing beleben. Emma wird nach und nach Forschungs- und Kochstation, Spielzeug, Kino und Werkstatt zum Bauen, Malen, Basteln und vielem mehr. Emma richtet sich an Kinder und Jugendliche zwischen 8 und 14 Jahren des Stadtteils Untergiesing. Mitmachen ist offen und kostenlos!
Helsinki, Finnland 2014
Mo-we-Mo-bil is a self-built experimental mobile cinema. It aims at (re)activating spaces in Helsinki by bringing people together for public screenings, intervening on relevant topics. It is made of a projection-unit on wheels and foldable chairs, which have been built in multiple workshops hold in Kontula (Kontupiste) and the TO THE SQUARE 2 festival’s Lasipalatsi Square.

EMMA ist ein mobiler Aktivator in Form einer fahrbaren langen Tafel mit verschiedenen zusätzlichen Funktionen - vom mobilen Planungsbüro zur Werkstatt, über die Torwand bis zur Küche. Sie kann in kurzer Zeit aus alten Paletten oder Ähnlichem gebaut werden und lässt sich nach Bedarf erweitern und für unterschiedliche Nutzungen optimieren.

Scenography for GOLDVEEDELSAGA: an open air theaterproduction by GESINE DANCKWART at Schauspiel Köln. A play on a square without a name in the center of Cologne. The story about the people that live there or might have lived there or might live there in the future. A church, a döner kebap, a gay bar, apartment houses, garages, park benches, garbage cans and in the center, the meteor, a mobile stage, a mirror cabinet, the entrance, exit and hideout of the piece.

Invited by Storefront for Art and Architecture the Spacebuster was developed and designed to explore the qualities and possibilities of public space in New York City. Spacebuster interacts with the architectural and the social space and its conditions. It opens urban space for temporary collective uses. The Spacebuster is build on the basis of a step van and a big inflatable space coming out of the back of the van fitting up to 80 persons in it. People enter the bubble through the passenger’s door of the van walking through to the back down a ramp right into the inflated space. The bubble is supported by air pressure generated by a fan underneath the ramp. The membrane of the bubble is translucent so people on the inside can see schematically what´s going on outside and vice versa. So the membrane acts as a semi permeable border between the public and the more private.

Raumlabor approached this project with the questions: is reinventing the history of a place a good idea, when the current accepted history isn't helping the present situation? Finding, as in our case, no suitable point of departure/entry for a solution to apparent urbanistic problems, is it possible through the interweaving of truth, urban legend and invention to inspire regional pride in the inhabitants of a desolated residential area? And when this (hi)story is presented in a positive light, could it get the ball rolling? Is it possible by reinventing a history to create a new perspective for a site which has undergone a century of urban catastrophes?
