Project
Milton Keynes, United Kingdom 2019
In Autumn 2019, Milton Keynes experiences the inaugural ‘A Festival of Creative Urban Living’ – a new biennial art, design and architecture festival for the city. Commissioned by Milton Keynes Council, the first edition is developed, shaped and co-curated by raumlaborberlin.
Bruges, Belgium 2017
Situated in an unlikely pocket along a canal in Bruges—one of the few remaining industrial sites in the historical port city—the project reprograms and reactivates this factory area into a sphere of collective imagination, action, and transformation. The project evolves slowly over time: developed in collaboration with local youth, the House of Time enables them to work together to find solutions to social and community problems through discussions, experiments, and the act of living together. The project is part of the Bruges Triennial 2018: Liquid City, for the duration of which the place is open to all.
Berlin, Germany 2017
raumlaborberlin has been invited by the cultural and planning department of Tromsø to design a public space in connection with possible future art and urban interventions. We are interested in the city as a space of activity: urban identity arises from inhabitants' relationship to their environment. The project aims to define specific qualities and programs for new public spaces in Nordbyen and proposes locations and themes for urban interventions and public art.
