For the 2012 De Wereld van Witte de With Festival entitled “The Street – Live Issue!” the Witte de With Straat is blocked for traffic for the first time. The space usually occupied by parked and moving cars is given to the people for alternative use and program connected to the festivals topic.

In our project for Hong Kong we have a look on water as a common good. We focus our work around the fountain, as an old tool to provide water to be used by all.

Invided by the Goethe-Institute China we develop a project for the Berlin pavilion of the Shanghai Biennale 2012 based on the story of the architect Richard Paulick (1903-1976).

At the TODAYSART festival in the Hague we build a “Vortex” – a space like a whirlwind from locally available materials.

A 50 meter long temporay staircase leads to the roof of the Alvar-Alto-Kulturhaus in Wolfsburg – following an original idea of Alvar-Alto. The staircaise is not only a “short cut” but also functions as a summer-cafe on the roof.

raumlabor designed the festival architecture for the transmediale 12 at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. The installation consists of fragments, which seen as an ensemble evoke memories of habitations. The objects appear as a new species, a fusion of furniture and construction elements.

OFFICINA ROMA is an experimental building practice in context of the exhibition “RE-CYCLE. Strategies for Architecture, City and Planet” at the MAXXI in Rome.
For a week we built with 20 students from schools all over Italy using recycling materials.

In context of Portavillion 2010 our mobile bubbletecture Rosy (the ballarina) travelled to 15 locations in the City of London. Rosy provided space for dance events, performances and discussions at the “London Festival for architecture”.

As the winner of an international competition raumlaborberlin was commissioned with the realization of the exhibition architecture for the “Kunstausstellung am Humboldthafen”, which was supposed to take place on an empty site at the Humboldthafen in the center of Berlin. The exhibition architecture is generated from mobile containers. Berlin-based firms were asked to provid these objects for the time of the exhibition. In this way firmes from Berlin would help to create a stetting in which young contemorary art could present itself.

raumlabor designed the festival architecture for the transmediale 11 at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. An abstract landscape unfolds as a bridge between foyer and exhibitions hall becoming a space of action and a three-dimensional projection screen at the same time. Light textile bands function as mobile walls and define several flexibel multi-purpose spaces.

raumlabor berlin has won the competition for an art work in front of the new Stasimuseum in Berlin Lichtenberg.

The SPACEBUSTER was reactivated as part of the Festival of Ideas for The New City.

The GREATED FUTURES is a vision of a space in a post-oil-shock-scenario, where today merges with the past, by referring to metaphoric narratives of past visions of the future. it is shown as part of the exhibition “regress / progress” at the The Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.

I see some steps going up the hill. Something is written on them. As I start climbing up those steps , I discover information, which will accompany me on my way to the top. A scale informs me, meter after meter, about the altitude I am reaching. Another scale describes the history of the hill- from the garbage site to the hill for new energies…

Subway-station Eichbaum between Essen and Mülheim/Ruhr is an urban spot of spatial deficiency, that has to be converted in near future. The project “Eichbaum Countdown” adresses to young people of the neighborhood, who are connected to the Eichbaum-station.

THE KNOT is a mobile platform for artistic presentation and production, inhabiting different areas of public space, and offering itself as an open space of encounter, exchange and experimentation. In 2010 The Knot visited Berlin, Warsaw and Bucharest, stopping in each city for a few weeks.

The exhibition CITY DREAMERS aims to present various attitudes to the phenomenon of the “public space” to the Ústí public, and also model types of artistic interventions in the urban environment.
